As virtual networking becomes the new
norm, it's so important that we continue
to explore new ways of making the experi-
ence high-end for our best collectors and
clients.
(If you've had the misfortune of attending a
workplace "virtual happy hour" where no
thought was put into the event and guests talk
all over each other with no clear goal or end
in sight, then you already know why this is so
important!)
Thankfully, creating a high-end virtual
networking event doesn't need to be high-
stress IF you follow these 5 simple steps to
elevating your collector and client experi-
ence:
1. Create a deeply facilitated event.
We never want to experience those awk-
ward Zoom conversations where everyone is
trying to talk at once (and most of the
conversation is filled with "no, you go
ahead!")
Plan an activity in advance and guide your
guests every step of the way.
You could send out bottles of wine for a
virtual tasting with your top collectors or
invite them to participate in a meaningful
show and tell that gets the conversation
going on a deeper level.
Whatever you choose to do, it's always best
to create a bit of an arc to your event that
you facilitate to give your guests an incred-
ible experience that hits all the right notes!
2. Curate your guest list with exquisite
detail.
Remember that this isn't just any old Zoom call
your clients and collectors will be hopping on!
Curate your guest list with the same level as
discernment that you would for a wedding
-- and think about breakout rooms and
other opportunities for connecting small
groups of guests in the same way you might
think about a seating chart.
3. Consider your unfair advantage.
By its very definition, an unfair advantage
is the edge that cannot be replicated or
bought by another.
