page 2 "I gained more than friendships. Friends became role models who helped me become a better person. I saw their drive, determination, leadership, and accomplishments, which made me want to succeed as they had," she stated. "That drive has carried over in my profession. Being accountable, being part of a team, and working as well as living together helps one to understand others and be adaptable, flexible, and giving—personally and in a career setting." After graduating from Mizzou, Missy began her career as an entrepreneur by starting her own graphic design business. As her business grew, her goals developed into bigger dreams, which led to her publishing L•O Profile Magazine. "I have been in business since 1987, as the sole owner of Studio M Publishing, having launched the magazine later in 2007 (now on its 14th year)," she said. "I take pride in being a female business owner with a staff of 12 and more than a dozen freelance writers and photographers. Each edition is like developing a new product." Missy's Tri Delta sisters rubbed off on her in the best way possible, and her overall sorority experience kept her focused, on track, and set her up for success in college and beyond. "They were leaders and goal setters—they never saw a ceiling for what could be accomplished," she explained. "There was encouragement among all of us, and a positive environment existed with role models from which to learn." Tri Delta enhanced Missy's college experience, but Mizzou was already a family tradition. Both her parents graduated from Mizzou, where they were members of Alpha Gamma Delta and Lambda Chi Alpha. "I was sitting in Memorial Stadium well before I had reached a decade old. And the tradition has carried on with my children, Mira and Jace; I love Missouri University. And what is crazy, I married the man of my dreams whose love for the Tigers is as extreme as mine. 'Coach Gary,' as I call him," she added. Gary and Missy spend most of their time at their Lake of the Ozarks home with almost daily travel to their home in Columbia. You can connect with her at studiompublishing@gmail.com. THE DRIVING FORCES OF SISTERHOOD (Continued from page 1) Missy Mar ne e Pinkel '82 with her late mother and Mizzou alumna, Jan Mar ne e, former Tiger football head coach and husband, Gary Pinkel, daughter, Mira Hills, and son, Jace Hills, at a Mizzou Alumni Associa on tailgate party in Kansas City. What are the top three things you learned from Tri Delta? "A sisterhood bond is forever; goals are achievable through encouragement and posi ve environments; and college life has more to offer beyond educa on in the classroom." H appy 2021! Let me begin by introducing myself: my name is Amber Phillips Condict, I pledged Tri Delta in 1988, and I graduated with a degree in early childhood education in 1992. I cherish my four years at Mizzou and the wonderful experiences and lasting friendships I made through Tri Delta. My husband, Travis, and I have been in Columbia since 1996 and have four daughters. I joined the Delta Xi House Corporation in 2018, and I have much admiration and respect for the women serving on our board. Several members have shown a steadfast commitment of serving over 20 years! In May, the board elected new officers, and I am proud to be serving as president, with Marci Morley Boland '83 as vice president, Betsy Laushcke Prosperi '84 as secretary, and Glenda Dahl Hall '71 as treasurer. While all of our meetings since April have been conducted over Zoom, we continue to strive to serve our chapter by providing "a safe, comfortable, and competitive living, learning, and leading environment." It is our goal to keep this purpose statement at the forefront of all decisions made. Much of the board's efforts in 2020 went toward the planning and implementation of interior chapter house renovations. We are very excited for these updates and can't wait to share A Fresh Look for 901 with all of you. Along with the needed interior improvements, we continue to face the necessary challenges that come with the upkeep of an almost 100-year-old house. Important HVAC and exterior issues will need to be addressed this year. On behalf of the House Corporation, I truly appreciate the generous support of our alumnae. Please feel free to reach out anytime with questions or concerns. Here's to a joyful and successful new year!
