He had been residing in Joseph Creek Care Village suf- fering from Parkinson's and Lewy Body Dementia. He is survived by his wife, Anne and three daughters, Karen, Sheri and Cindy. JEFFREY BUTLER JONES Jeffrey Butler Jones was born August 8, 1942 in Southgate, Cali- fornia. Jeff passed into his Savior's arms on January 16th, 2020 in his Quartzsite home. At the age of 5, Jeff and his fam- ily moved to Yorba Linda in Orange County. He attended high school and college in Fullerton, California. In 1964, he married Carol Mckenzie. Jeff and Carol welcomed their fi rst child, David, in 1966, and three years later, their son Phillip was born. Af- ter searching for more meaning in his life, investigating various reli- gions, Jeff came to Christ in 1968 as a result of his father's conversion a year before. A short time later, he felt a call from God to ministry and attended Melo- dyland School of Theology, in Ana- heim, where he graduated in 1976. In 1970, Jeff and Carol felt called by God to become foster parents. They served approximately 126 children for the next 30 years and completed their family with the adoption of Anne and Jennifer. Jeff pastored churches in Texas, Lake Havasu City, San Diego, and Quartzsite. Over the years, he did law enforcement chaplaincy with the Marshalls and Sheriff's Depart- ment in San Diego, Arizona De- partment of Public Service, La Paz County Sheriff's Department, and Quartzsite Police Department. Jeff pastored the Quartzsite Alli- ance Church from 2001 until 2018, when we passed the torch to his then Associate Pastor. Many lives have been touched by Pastor Jeff and he will be greatly missed. Jeff's life can be summed up with the understanding that he would want all others to know that Jesus loves them, died for them, and offers the free gift of salvation to anyone who would accept it, simply by accepting Jesus' work on the cross. He is survived by Carol, his wife of 57 years. His four children, three grandchildren, and three great- grandchildren, as well as his sister Robin Sweet and brother Clay Jones. Pastor Jeff's memorial was held at the Alliance Church of Quartzsite on January 30, 2021. The family would like to thank everyone for their love and sup- port. The family would like to give a special thanks to Jim and Barb Moser, A.G. and Audrey Wilson, and Steve Frakes Calamity after calamity, both in our families and in our nation, have occurred in the last year.
