2A – Daily News – Tuesday, July 13, 2010 Community people&events Annie B’s sign- ups going on now All charitable causes in Butte, Glenn, Tehama and Colusa counties are invited to participate in a program to stimulate dona- tions, Annie B’s Community Drive. Non-profit organizations must sign up before the deadline of July 31. The drive is designed to encourage giving to local non-profits during a two-month dona- tion period, Aug. 1 to Sept. 30. During the first three years of the campaign, nearly $3.1 million in contributions for local nonprofits were supplemented by $300,000 in grants from North Valley Community Foundation, allowing donors’ contributions to make an even greater difference in the region. Starting Aug. 1, organizations participating in the drive will ask their donors to contribute. Gifts are made to NVCF by a donor on behalf of the qualified local charity. Non-profits receive 100 percent of these donor contribu- tions plus money added from the grant funds available. The total amount of donations deter- mines the match percentage – traditionally around 7-10 percent. In partnership with the Chico Thursday Night Market, participating non-profits will be present at the Chico City Plaza Sept. 16 with information on the services each provides. Visit www.nvcf.org for details, or call Sara Nelson at 891-1150, ext 23. In addition to increasing support for local non-profit organizations, the goal of the drive is to help organizations fulfill their missions in sustainable ways and to increase support from donations. Many participating organizations will use this opportunity to create and increase their endowment funds at NVCF. SECRET WITNESS 529-1268 A program of Tehama County Neighborhood Watch Program, Inc.
