Very few people remember "when the lights came on." Today, your quality of life depends on the Cooperative's affordable, reliable service. It is our privilege to provide it. A proud past...A powerful future carrollecc.com 800-432-9720 info@carrollecc.com " ey're the hub that makes the wheel turn." at's Kristy Danna, manager of Audrey's Resale Boutique in Bella Vista, talking about her volunteer staff. Like so many nonprofits in the area, the store depends on volunteers to keep its doors open and its mission served. e boutique serves as the primary funding source for Audrey's Home of Hope, a nonprofit whose mission was updated and a new board of directors just announced last month. e new 5-seat volunteer board includes: President Terry Sage; VP Jan Pruitt; Secretary Nancy Gross; Treasurer Roxanne Birchfield; and Fundraising Chair Matt Casey. Audrey's focus will now be on helping those in need right here in the Bella Vista community including everyone from children to the elderly, men and women, families and singles. None of it would be possible without their volunteers. e boutique usually keeps a staff of about 30 volunteers. Since the pandemic, however, Kristy has been getting by with a skeleton crew of just eleven volunteers, making it possible for the organization to continue help out those in need during this crisis. Recently, for example, Audrey's helped pay the utility bills of some working mothers who were struggling due to the pandemic. "We are so grateful for this community and what they've given to us," Kristy continued. "We've planted our feet here, people know that they can get help here." Kristy's volunteers are retirees ranging in age from 65-83 years old, and many of them give their time to other organizations as well. Why do they do it? "Love of community, first and foremost," Kristy said. "And they've reached a time in their lives when they can give back." Audrey's is always in need of home furnishings and decor and they offer pick up and delivery.
