Thanks to generous alumni support, we added new letters to the front of the chapter house. (They are roommates and practiced proper social distancing outside of this photo.) Daniel have had quite a unique semester. Through entirely new regulations, recruitment ideas, and social in- teraction, the gentlemen prevailed. This time has been stressful for everyone, but we could not be more grateful to have spent it with one another. HEALTH AND SAFETY The brothers adapted well to the COVID-19 outbreak. Through the help of alumni support and proper communication and execution by the executive board, the chapter house saw only four in-house members contract the virus; they have all recovered well. We want to give special thanks to our health and safety chairman, Milan Patel '23, for his research, planning, and dedication to keeping our numbers low—especially compared to other chapters. RECRUITMENT Despite constantly changing regulations by the university, housing, and local ordinance, the Illinois Beta Chapter saw a tremendous increase in recruitment. Every social fraternity in IFC this year with more than 100 members, except one, saw a decline in recruitment due to the pandemic; we were that exception. In fact, we saw a 50% increase in new members this fall versus last fall, and we could not be more optimistic about it. We would like to congratulate all involved, but we would like to give a special thanks to Recruitment Chair- men Zach Dworsky '23 and Jared Kurland '23 for their exemplary dedication to recruiting talented, intelligent, and motivated individuals. ACADEMIC SUCCESS Last spring, Illinois Beta marked a 3.15 GPA. This is now the fifth consecutive semester with a GPA north of 3.0. As gentlemen and scholars, we will continue to strive for aca- demic excellence. Philanthropy and Alumni Events We are hoping that more traditional philan- thropy and alumni events will be feasible later this spring. As prior eminent archon, I will keep a close watch on the chapter, and we hope to see alumni at future events when it safe to hold them. Keep a close eye on our Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages for more information.
