3 many hands, one heart "TO THOSE SITTING ON THE FENCE" We hope that any of you may have been sitting on the fence can see that this vision is becoming a reality. Now is the time to step forward. The riskiest phase of this project is behind us. However, we still need more funds to ensure that our new and improved Temple can be fully completed and outfitted as originally envisioned. To become a beacon of inspiration and hope, the North Star among fraternities and sororities on the UW campus, and beyond. With the leadership of Brad Furber '86 and Bob Gilbert' 81 we are now launching the Built to Last campaign to ensure we can put the finishing touches to the whole building and grounds and keep the project consistent with our original design ambitions. The first phase and highest priority of the Built to Last campaign will focus on design refinements of important exterior enhancements such as front yard design and landscaping, brick and wrought-iron fencing facing the streets, and brick facing of the new addition. A project of this nature is more than a once-in-a-generation project, do not miss being a part of it. The intent is to reflect the original Tudor design of our original Temple in the rebuilt "new section," and project our long- standing heritage at the University of Washington. To fund this phase we're asking those who previously pledged over a five-year schedule to the Many Hands, One Heart campaign and encouraging brothers to complete any past due payments, accelerate any or all future scheduled payments, and make new "sixth-year" pledges and payments, preferably within the next 60 days. Good News! Gifts of $1,000 or more are now eligible to be treated as charitable contributions for tax purposes. This includes scheduled or accelerated, or new gifts or sixth year payments. Please note that many of our larger donations to date have also been made through the gift of appreciated stock or through qualifying distributions from IRAs. You should be aware that you can take advantage of other tax advantages provided by the recent CARES Act legislation to stimulate philanthropy. The second phase of the Built to Last campaign to begin this spring, will focus on expanding the circle of donors. As part of the second phase of the Built to Last campaign, we will offer naming rights to certain rooms and other chapter house amenities. The intent is to identify custom branded furniture, fixtures, and artwork. This will be organized by a donor recognition committee. We are creating of a website similar to a wedding registry that includes items that can be made available for individual and/or class gifts. Moreover, also being planned is an option for a program to facilitate smaller automatic payments by Alumni, such as a $19.21 Club, especially so that younger Alumni can contribute. We hope that since construction has commenced there is an explosion of interest and enthusiasm. Your contributions can enable us to finish strong. Like a Greek Temple or the Roman Colosseum, our new Chapter House should be built to last and inspire a sense of pride among Undergraduates and Alumni alike for generations to come. Please accelerate your existing pledges, increase that pledge or make a new one-time gift at https://bit.ly/ADPhiFoundation Thank you and XAIPE, Pacific Northwest Alumni of Alpha Delta Phi Built to Last Campaign Launched (Continued from page 1) Frank E.
