Concessions Available The VFW Auxiliary 769 will again sponsor honoring our Veterans at Christmas time through Wreaths Across America. The event will be on December 19. We are look- ing for donations for the fresh, live Wreaths to place on the graves of all Veterans in our local Cemetery. We will also be honoring all Veter- ans still with us in our community. We are looking to our community to make this happen. The live, fresh Wreaths cost $15.00 each. We are having a drive by fund raiser in the VFW 769 parking lot on October 31 from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. This will also be an opportunity to drop off non-perishable food items for our local Food Bank. You can designate a specifi c grave on which to place the Wreath when you make a dona- tion if you wish to. The Wreaths are prepared and shipped from the Wreaths Across America Tree farm in Maine. A lot of semis and drivers are volunteered to deliver these Wreaths across the USA so they can be ready for the Wreaths Across America Day. We are asking for enough wreaths to place on each and every Veteran's grave plus at least 1 to place at Cecilia's Garden to remem- ber those Veterans memorials there. The Wreaths will be removed, and a fl ag placed on these graves at a later day. The Wreaths will then be given to Veterans or spouses living in our community to remind them they have not been forgotten. The Executive Director of Wreaths Across America, Karen Worchester said "Remember we are America strong and in these trou- bled times it is important to look to those who have served and sac- rifi ced for our freedom and emulate their character and courage. Hav- ing been given the freedom to agree, disagree and compromise we must come together to build a path to the future for the next generation, in- stilling in them the responsibility to care for that freedom. Together we can and will face these diffi cult times ahead with renewed commit- ment to remain as always, America Strong!" Will you donate $15.00 or more to this worthwhile community en- deavor? Would you be willing to assist in placing the Wreaths on the graves on December 18? Contact Verla Fish, 928-916-9643 for more information. Quartzsite Police Dept issued a public notice last week warning the public about abusing the wood chipper. The woodchipper located behind the Waste/Water Treatment Plant should only be used for dumping tree trimmings and other discard- ed vegetation. Illegal dumping of trash, building/construction ma- terial, concrete, and other debris are prohibited. BLM [Bureau of Land Management] has graciously allowed us to utilize this land to dispose of discarded vegetation. Continuous dumping of prohibited materials will result in the closure of the woodchipper. Please take all other debris and trash to the local or county landfi ll for proper dispos- al. Illegal dumping could result in a fi ne of $500 dollars and/or 30 days in jail. If you have any questions contact QPD at 928-927-6444. WE'RE BACK!!
