Tour of Churches benets the Empty Stocking Fund

EVENT
e Elizabethtown-W hite Lake Area
Chamber of Commerce has a Tour of Churches
throughout Bladen Count y planned for Nov. 28
from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. e ticketed event will
allow local churches to showcase their church
buildings and the histor y behind them.
e tour is self-guided with participants
navigating to and from each location using the
map provided with the event ticket. However,
guides will be available
to talk about church
histor y and show visitors around.
e tour will give people the opportunit y to
learn about and visit local churches, as well as
take part in a fundraiser for the Empt y Stocking
Fund. is fund is a communit y partnership of
the Bladen Journal, Leinwands and the Bladen
Count y Department of Social Services.
By donating for a ticket for the Tour of
Churches, participants are making a con-
tribution
to less fortunate children in the
communit y, according to Terri Dennison, the
director of communications and marketing for
Elizabethtown. e Chamber of Commerce
hopes that the tour will be successful and
become an annual event encouraging locals
and visitors to see the count y and patronize
local shops and restaurants.
e 2020 Bladen Count y Tour of Churches
includes six churches: Bladenboro First Baptist
Church, Brown
Marsh Presbyterian Church,
the Chapel at Harmony Hall, Old Trinit y
Methodist Church, St. Christopher's Episcopal
Church and Trinit y United Methodist Church.
Tickets can be obtained at the
Elizabethtown–W hite Lake Area Chamber of
Commerce, any of the participating church

ting a $5
donation per ticket to benet the
Empt y Stocking Fund.
e tour is part of the kick-o for Warm
Southern Christmas, the Chamber's annual
holiday celebration which begins anksgiving
weekend.
