Sigma Chi 3 Z eta Psi Chapter continues to grow as we welcomed 20 new members into the Sigma Chi brotherhood this September. Recruitment Chairmen Lou Langen '23 and Matias Morita '23 did a phenomenal job of organizing COVID-19-safe events, welcoming alumni, and broadcasting the high ideals Zeta Psi brothers live by. We look forward to the impact these new brothers will bring to our chapter after being initiated. We have seen an excellent demonstration of leadership and the embodiment of different temperaments, talents, and convictions by our brothers. Lucas Schirr '20 has excellently led as president of the IFC at the university. Several other brothers serve as presidents of various campus organizations, including Isaac Baxter '22 (UC Choruses), Charlie MacKenzie '20 (Lindner Ambassadors), and Jacob Korniak '20 (Sales Leadership Club and Varsity Sales Team), to name a few. Bailey Vianello '21 has shown creativity and compassionate activism as a four-time published photographer and premiere photographer for the Black Lives Matter movement. He is also starting a donation campaign through his photography sales. Ethan Miller '20 founded Artist Reps UC to promote students creating art in music, literature, visual arts, and film. Additionally, Ethan is giving back by writing, directing, and editing a film for students at a local high school. Casey Norman '20 has excelled through his work in a cancer research lab focused on head and neck cancer. Lou Langen founded the official student organization for the Warren Bennis Leadership Experience and has gained support of the dean to help grow the event into a center for the study of leadership in research, teaching, and business community consulting. On larger level, we have seen our Zeta Psi brothers impacting the world with Charlie MacKenzie and Lucas Schirr working for The Ventilator Project in efforts to rapidly build ventilators during the COVID-19 pandemic. We continue to develop leaders of men through programs such as alumni speakers, brotherhood retreats, internal and external scholarships, brother recognitions, and more. Our constant efforts to find optimal success in our academics, philanthropy, leadership, community, and life drive our members' accountability to live out what it truly means to be a Sigma Chi brother. Additionally, our brothers have shown great initiative within our community as our neighborhood continues to grow. From University of Cincinnati guest speakers to community clean-ups, our chapter has expressed its immense interest in further strengthening our community relations. Academically, we finished the spring semester with a 3.6 GPA, one of the highest on campus. Our philanthropy team is finding innovative ways to attempt to raise $20,000 for our philanthropy partner, the Huntsman Cancer Institute. Zeta Psi remains actively involved with many brothers holding leadership positions on campus and in the surrounding community with 80% of brothers involved in on-campus organizations and nearly 30% of them holding leadership positions. We are all looking forward to a great rest of the academic year!
