WWW.UPANDCOMINGWEEKLY.COM OCTOBER 21-27, 2020 UCW 19 WEEKLY HOROSCOPE NEWS OF THE WEIRD by the Editors at Andrews McMeel Syndication Questionable Judgment A 51-year-old man from St. Cloud, Minnesota, was released from jail in Elk River, but as he left the facility, he decided to take with him a DoorDash delivery that had been intended for a correctional officer working there. The Star News reported the officer contact- ed the former inmate by phone to inquire after his $29.13 order, and the man said he thought his family had sent it to him. He was cited for theft. Oops! Officials in Dania Beach, Florida, recently upgraded signs welcom- ing visitors to their city, including a small one that has greeted drivers for years along Dania Beach Boule- vard, but local activist Clive Taylor took exception, pointing out that the sign is actually in Hollywood, not Dania Beach. "The little sign was bad enough," Taylor, who is vice president of the Hollywood Historical Society, told the Sun Sentinel. "But to have Dania put up this mini-billboard with lights on it is wrong." Hollywood Mayor Josh Levy says he's confident the two towns can work together to resolve the issue. Chutzpah Three unnamed Metro-North Railroad employees were sus- pended without pay for turning a storage room under New York City's Grand Central Terminal into a man cave, complete with a televi- sion, refrigerator, microwave and futon couch, according to the Met- ropolitan Transportation Author- ity. Investigators found the space after receiving an anonymous tip that the three -- a wireman, a car- penter foreman and an electrical foreman -- had built a secret room where they would "hang out and get drunk and party." Bright Idea A commuter boarded a bus in England, sporting what one fellow passenger thought was a "funky mask" until it started to move. The face mask turned out to be a live snake, wrapped around the man's neck and over his nose and mouth, the BBC reported. Transport for Greater Manchester, however, said in a statement that "snakeskin -- especially when still attached to the snake" is not suitable for face masks. Question: Has "New Amsterdam" been canceled? I love all the charac- ters and the story lines and will really miss it. — Linda Matt Roush: It's the opposite of canceled — it has been renewed for three more seasons. But like many shows this year, its premiere has been delayed by the coronavirus un- til early 2021. Question: What happened to "Sun- nyside?" I grew up in Sunnyside, Queens. It was a great neighborhood with a terrific blend of nationalities. Any chance it will come back? — Diana Matt Roush: ere's a blast from the past. "Sunnyside" was the first can- cellation of last season, and after the first few aired on NBC, the rest of the completed episodes went online. e chances of it coming back in any form is about as slim as it gets. By Damian Holbrook Cheers to Drew Barrymore for a inspired launch to her talk show, "e Drew Barrymore Show." e most delightful addition to daytime since Kelly Clarkson, Bar- rymore made a heavenly debut by kicking things off with "Charlie's An- gels" costars Lucy Liu and Cameron Diaz for an LOL-filled reunion. Jeers to "House Hunters." Hubby demands a man cave, but wifey hates the carpet? Neither likes the kitchen counters? Shocker. e persnickety home-seekers featured on HGTV's real-estate hit have been whining and warring over the same minor details and dumb demands for years! It's surprising some of them have friends for all of the en- tertaining they claim to do. Jeers to ABC for dumping "Stump- town." A favorite from last year, the sly action dramedy starring Cobie Smulders as a Portland P.I. was re- newed in May then axed last month after production delays stalled its planned fall return. What stumps us is why they just didn't move it to mid-season. We'd wait! ARIES - March 21/April 20 Carve out some time to tune into your inner muse, Aries.
