These classes are made possible through a grant from the City of Fayetteville's COVID relief program. FINANCIAL IQ CLASSES EVERY MONDAY AT 7PM CLASSES ARE FREE REGISTER ONLINE AT FAYBIZ.COM Business owners will learn: * How to improve their credit scores * How to set and manage their budget * How to read a cash flow statement * How to manage inventory * How to get financing * Making your money work for you Each class will be offered in two consecutive sessions before moving on to the next topic. This gives participants multiple opportunities to access the content. The Chamber is also offering the opportunity for participants to get a free consultation with an accountant to help navigate PPP and EIDL loan reporting requirements. The first class will cover Financial Literacy Basics This course explains the concepts of financial literacy, project planning, and how to position yourself for growth. (It introduces concepts of credit score, budget, cashflow, goal setting, and decision making) The second class looks at Preparing for Financing This course assists the business owner/ entrepreneur in preparing to seek financing. In the course participants explore credit score, asset assessment, corrective plans, bootstrapping, and financial accountability. Other classes in the series include: Understanding Where The Money Goes. This course explains cash flow and its importance to a business' survival. Balance Sheet and Income statement Basics This course explains the financial documents used to operate a business. Improving Business Performance This course explores strategies to improve the financial performance of the business utilizing financial performance ratios. About The Seminar Presenter Johnnie Marshburn is a Lecturer of Entrepreneurship for the College of Business and Economics at Fayetteville State University. He has served as the NC SBTDC Regional Director for the Cape Fear Region for 5 years and as an adjunct instructor. He has owned and operated two small entrepreneurial businesses. Before joining the SBTDC, Marshburn was responsible for the exporting of cut fabric to offshore sewing plants as the Assistant Finishing Manager for Outerbanks. As a reminder, the Fayetteville City Council has approved funding for bridge loans of up to $5,000 to help keep small businesses operating while they are waiting for approval of federal loans.
