Betty Kelly's Gift Shop 910-484-4044 1228 Fort Bragg Road Fayetteville, NC 28305 www.bettykellygifts.com Betty Kelly's Gift Shop is in its fourth generation of helping brides pick that china pattern they'll love for years to come, as well as helping everyday shop- pers select just the right treasure. It's a knack that has been handed down for decades. The busi- ness had its origins in the home of Nettie Huffines, grandmother of current owner Frances Kelly Morketter. Local brides came to learn there was always something special in Mrs. Huffines' silver striped boxes. Betty Huffines Kelly would go on to ex- pand the business her mother started, eventually moving to 1110 Hay Street in 1982, where The Gift Shop remained for 37 years. When Betty Kelly died in 2004, Morketter took over ownership, renaming the business in her mother's honor. She moved the shop to its current Fort Bragg Road location in 2016. She, and now daughter Kathryn, continue to offer the latest trends and old-fashioned personalized service. Kathryn and Fran The family owned businesses featured on these pages reflect years of hard work, integrity and vision, all while steeling themselves against the possibil- ity of failure. Each success story is a testament to having persevered through struggles, obstacles and even the squabbles that come with having a dream that includes working alongside the people you love most. Businesses like these have an immeasurable positive impact on our commu- nity. They are a reflection of our city's history, and they enrich all of us who live here. Our community would not be the same without them. We salute each of these businesses and wish them continued success for generations to come. Family Owned Businesses
