Riding for the Brand : 100 Years, Pride-Loyalty-Brotherhood LAMBDA CHI ALPHA - ALPHA ETA - OKLAHOMA STATE UNIVERSITY HOUSE IS COMPLETED AND LOOKS GREAT It's Time for Everyone to Do eir Part to Reach Campaign Goal I n 2017 I volunteered to serve as chairman of the Alpha Eta Capital Campaign Committee. At that time, we were looking at a $2 million major renovation. That plan quickly changed to the construction of a 24,000-sq.-ft., state-of-the- art facility with a total cost over $6 million. Somewhere along the way, the responsibility for overseeing the construction project was added to my fundraising duties. I expected this project to be a challenge, but believe me, it has exceeded my greatest expectations. This project has had more "perfect storm" moments than can be imagined, but with the help of many, construction is complete and the finished product is spectacular. My construction oversight responsibilities officially ended June 30. The house at 923 University is now under the watchful eye of Brett Shelton EY1018. Brett is a veteran member of the Alpha Eta Building Fund Corporation and has previously served in this capacity. The Chapter is extremely fortunate that Brett is willing to resume this responsibility. My fundraising "tour of duty" is also winding down. Staying true to the American tradition, I leave you with debt. However, unlike the national debt, with your help we can reduce this to an amount that can be serviced over the years from Chapter operations. We now owe $4.3 million and the interest meter is spinning. If all outstanding pledge balances are paid over the next two years, and if we raise an additional $800,000, that debt can be less than $3 million by 2022. Please, please do your share to make this happen. Many have paid their pledges in full, but several have made no payments. If you've been waiting for completion of the project, your wait is over. Pay up! Eleven brothers have doubled their original commitment. It would be great to see that number increase to 25. Over 150 brothers have contributed. Please join them today by completing the enclosed donation form. This project was absolutely necessary and was long overdue. Now, we must do our part to reduce this debt and we can't do it without you! We now have the most unique and attractive fraternity house at OSU. Share in the pride and satisfaction of continuing the Alpha Eta legacy by joining your brothers as we successfully complete this exciting project. Get involved, stay involved, and give generously!
