page 6 Investing in Our Future Y our investment in Alpha Sigma will secure the future success of our chapter and will ensure that future Bradley University undergraduate students have the opportunity for the Theta Xi experience you enjoyed. Today, perhaps more than ever, college fraternities play a relevant role in offering one of the healthiest forms of community to young men. Theta Xi today is able to provide that community on campus while providing support for a solid foundation for their education and development of their leadership skills. It is our responsibility as alumni to ensure our fraternity has the ability to do this for men to come. The undergraduate men have made a commitment to work hard and develop their fraternity and its members into a top-tier Theta Xi chapter. Together with our active members, the volunteer leadership of the Alpha Sigma Association and our campaign leadership board are committed to this major undertaking. Remember that each of us has benefited from the generosity, work, and sacrifice of those who went before us. We all enjoyed the friendships and brotherhood established during our years at Bradley University. For many of us, the brotherhood endures today. Now it is our turn to support Alpha Sigma and ensure this experience is available to others. We don't expect to recreate what we had, but we do seek to ensure Theta Xi provides the premier fraternity experience on campus, built upon our purpose. We urge your thoughtful consideration of this plan. Only you alone can place a value on your Theta Xi membership: the lifelong friendships you made, the development of your values and principles, and the many ways Alpha Sigma enhanced your college years and years since. The commitment we make today cannot be underestimated—it will build on our past and secure our future, the legacy of Alpha Sigma. "I was given a bid to join as a member of the Alpha Sigma Chapter of Theta Xi a little more than eight years ago. I didn't truly appreciate that moment until the following year when I realized that I wasn't handed a bid, but rather an opportunity. This opportunity provided me with a home, a family and a cause. That home is 1317 W. Fredonia Ave.; that family is Theta Xi; and that cause is to pass along what I have learned in order to provide a college home for future members that leads to mental, moral, physical and spiritual growth. Although that cause is almost a direct quote from our Purposes, it still rings true after more than 150 years. "The leadership opportunities, friendships and experiences afforded to me as an active member and now as an alumnus have helped mold me into the person I am today. Since graduating from Bradley, I've realized that this opportunity in the form of a bid also offered a lesson: that the influence the fraternity provides to us is equaled only by the influence we provide the fraternity. So long as we are guided by that lesson, we will continue to prosper.
