THE ORACLE Lambda Chi Alpha P.O. Box 604 Naperville, IL 60566-0604 Address Service Requested PRSRT STD U.S. POSTAGE PAID KPI A CALL TO ACTION Moving forward, we need to put a significant amount of money into readying the house for occupancy once again. This includes replacing 75% of the carpet, boiler replacement, mold abatement repair, painting, and yard work. The House Corporation Board of Directors is asking for alumni to give of your time and talent to bridge this financial gap. We optimistically anticipate not being at full live-in capacity until August 2021. Brothers, please join me and some of the undergraduates for our Alumni Work Day. This is being rescheduled for August 8 as COVID-19 guidelines permit. We will keep you informed. CHALEPA TA KALA The chapter house is secured and maintained daily to prevent vandalism, weather damage, pests, and environmental deterioration. The house is opened only under direct ACB supervision for undergraduate programs and events. We do employ a live-in advisor (DJ Purnell) as an unfunded IU requirement. DJ is finishing his Ph.D. in counseling psychology (with a minor in sport & performance psychology) and an M.S. Ed. in learning and development sciences (educational psychology track). His purpose is to provide academic guidance and interpersonal counseling to our undergraduate members. He does not function as the resident behavior authority nor have disciplinary authority. Those tasks constitutionally remain with the chapter officers and governing committee (e.g. EC). Ultimately every chapter member has the responsibility to hold each other accountable and accepts that bystander mentality is no longer tolerated at AOZ. PER CRUCEM CRESCENS The House Corporation has commitments from 37 men who will initially occupy our house starting in August 2020. The future of our Alpha- Omicron Zeta (Zeta includes all members, not just undergraduates) rests with each of us. We cannot be complacent if we are going to reach 104 years of continuous operations and beyond. The commitments we are willing to make as brothers of the bond will return Lambda Chi Alpha at Indiana University to an unparalleled position of leadership; not only on our campus but with our international fraternity. In ZAX, Joe Folkening House Corporation President ACB Chairman "ΛΧΑ is not just for a semester, 1 year or 4 years; but for a LIFETIME." - AK962 103 CONTINUOUS YEARS (Continued from page 1) Help us get ready to once again have brothers live in our chapter house.
