She was more than a bus driver or co-worker. She was a role model and the greatest care giver to our students. She took pride in transporting her precious cargo to and from school. Her "kid- dos" and work family will truly miss her one-of-a-kind heart. In a letter sent to parents on Mon- day, March 2nd Quartzsite Elemen- tary School District #4 announcing the death stated, "The death of one of our own is a loss which affects each of us. Renee King battled her illness courageously, and she was surrounded by her loving family throughout the diffi cult months. Teachers and other support staff have been, and will continue to be available to students, parents, each other. Please contact the school if you have any questions or con- cerns. As a parent, you may want to talk to your child about death because it impacts each person in differ- ent ways. How children react will depend on the relationships they had with the person who died, their age, level of development, and their prior experience with death. Your child may: appear unaffected, ask questions about the death repeated- Walk in the Past a success The Annual Quartzsite Historical Pageant "A Walk in the Past" was held February 23rd, 2019 at the Hi Jolly Cemetery. The pageant gave attendees a glimpse into the early pioneer lives and told brief histories of the fami- lies buried there who helped in the founding of our historic town in 1867. Attendees heard about some of the founding families who were here when Quartzsite was called Tyson's Well as well as some of the people who came later when it became the Town of Quartzsite. Folks heard stories of lives lost and new lives born and raised here. If you missed the Pageant, be sure to visit Tyson's Stage Stop Museum at 161 W. Main Street next to Silly Al's Pizza. Parking in back. Free Ad- mission to Museum. Donations are greatly appreciated. The people who work there to keep the history alive have done an awe- some job and deserve a big thank you for preserving and sharing our past. Please pick up a cemetery bro- chure and you will fi nd a map of all the graves marked and a brief his- tory of who is buried in the pioneer section of the cemetery. The cem- etery is open to the public to visit at your leisure. Visit www.quartzsite- museum.com for more details.
