March 4, 2020 www.DesertMessenger.com 15 Annual Party in the Park to celebrate Paul Winer's Love of Music March 15 By Joanne Winer The annual Party in the Park to celebrate Celia's Rainbow Gardens will be held in the pavilion at the Town Park on Plymouth Ave. on Sunday, March 15 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. This year, the music will start at 10:00am because this year we will have three bands. Lunch will still start at noon. This year will also be different because Paul will not be there. He tried to make it last year but couldn't because he was so ill. He passed away last May 7, 2019. His band mates and other musicians along with many friends held a Celebra- tion of his Life last November when a lot more people were here. Over three hundred people were there to give him a great send-off and it was great we have a link to the video we took if anyone would like it. The party this year is going to be a celebration of music which was his life. The Rock't Band, Sky- hawk Band, and a few musicians who played with Paul in the All Star Sweet Stomp Orchestra. When asked if this person wanted it back after he died, she said to keep it and sell it or raffl e it off. We are planning to raffl e it off at the Party in the Park, along with some other prizes. Paul wanted any extra money left after the expenses for the party to be used in the Heroes Bell Gardens, because of his love and respect for those who have helped us personally over the years. Raffl e tickets will be $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. You can pre-purchase raffl e tickets at the bookstore and they will also be at the party for sale. This party will also include a free barbecue lunch with burgers, beans, salads, cake and lem- onade.
