Get the word out! It's a band scramble! We want everyone to know and
all musicians to take part. Together we can make it the band event of the
year. Conra Marsh will be directing and conducting (?) Feb. 10th-not the
11th as some fl yers say. The 10th, got that? The 10th of February.
For the uninitiated, a band scramble consists of 5 or 6 bands made up
purely by a chance drawing. Given 20 minutes to get acquainted and re-
hearse. Then performing for prize money. Yes, money! All the admission
fee will be divided into prize money for the newly formed bands. Don't
be alarmed, your favorite band will not be reformed forever, just for one
fun-fi lled night.
One rule: you gotta play an instrument. Singing WITH an instrument
is great. Musicians will sign up between 5 and 6 p.m. The show starts at
7 p.m. The Arizona Connection Bluegrass Group will perform while the
bands are rehearsing.
You've got the date and time now, right? February 10th at the Quartzsite
Improvement Association, 235 E. Ironwood St., Quartzsite. 928-927-6325.
