Gamma Epsilon Chapter Earns 14th
Knox Award, Raises $1,500 for
Johnson Cancer Research Center
T
he fall semester saw many successes for Gamma Epsilon. We won our 14th Knox Award,
the highest award a Beta chapter can receive, this summer at the general convention. This
gives us the second most Knox Awards of any Beta chapter in the nation.
Gamma Epsilon placed second at Homecoming this fall paired with Gamma Phi Beta and
Lambda Chi Alpha. We couldn't have asked for a better pairing! We are excelling in intramurals
with great showings in football, soccer, wrestling, and many other sports. Our grades also looked
strong and we finished the semester in the top of fraternity grades.
During our annual philanthropy event, Beta Boo, we created a haunted house inside the
chapter house for the Manhattan community to visit. This year was once again successful
as we raised nearly $1,500 for the Johnson Cancer Research Center. Along with chapter
philanthropies, many brothers have been involved with on-campus activities and clubs.
Brothers Michael Safley '21 and Chace Prothe '21 have been working hard on their club they
co-founded called Vintage K-State. Vintage K-State works to teach the campus community
about vintage clothing while selling vintage apparel at pop-up shops on campus for affordable
prices. They gained over 100 new members during the fall semester.
Overall, the brothers of Gamma Epsilon exceed expectations in every field on and off campus.
We are looking forward to a successful and productive spring semester. As always, please feel
free to visit the chapter house whenever you find yourself in the Manhattan area. We would
love to hear stories from your time with Gamma Epsilon.
