BeTa TheTa pi 2 H aving graduated from St. James Academy in Lenexa, Kansas, Josh Spradlin '22 knew he wanted to attend a Division 1 university after high school. "When I visited Kansas State, I noticed that KSU offers the full Division 1 experience within a tight-knit campus, making it easy to travel from class to class," Josh recalls. "My sister, who was a part of the Greek system at KSU, insisted that I check out Beta Theta Pi." After connecting with the recruitment chairmen and active members, Josh new that Gamma Epsilon was the place for him. Before running for chapter president, Josh served as philanthropy chairman his freshman year and alumni chairman his sophomore year. He knew little about event planning as a freshman and gained lots of experience from both roles. "These positions helped me grow my communication skills and meet some great alumni." Josh's main goal as president is to carry on the great traditions of Gamma Epsilon. "We are one of the longest-standing fraternities at KSU. The chapter's history of tradition, academic success, and intramural competition resonate with me." In particular, Josh hopes to further emphasize academic success in the spring and see Gamma Epsilon finish within the top five GPAs on campus. He also wants to start an alumni tailgate for the first home football game each year to encourage further alumni engagement. 1930s Jess Dalton '30 Edwin M. Houghton '31 John E. Haney '33 William U. "Gamma Epsilon provides you a brotherhood and experiences that you will remember for a lifetime. I have formed many meaningful relationships, and I am excited to continue them and build upon them in the future." Josh is a kinesiology major with a minor in biology and plans to apply to medical school in 2020 and pursue a career in the health field.
