City Offices Closed for Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday The City of Fayetteville's government administrative offices, including City Hall, are closed on Monday, Jan. 20, 2020 in recognition of the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday. Please note the following schedules for resident service-focused departments: Solid Waste • Garbage and yard waste for Monday, Jan. 20 will be collected on Wednesday, Jan. 22. • Bulk items will be collected on Friday, Jan. 17. • Recycling will be collected on regular schedule on Monday, Jan. 20. If any collection service is missed, residents should leave their carts at the curb and, if needed, call 910-433-1FAY (1329). Parks & Recreation Administrative Offices will be closed on Monday, Jan. 20, in observance of the holiday. • General-purpose recreation centers will operate from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. • Special purpose facilities will operate 10 a.m. – 4 p.m. Facilities affected will include: The Senior Center, Tokay Senior Fitness Center, Gilmore Therapeutic Recreation Center, and the Clark Park Nature Center. • All parks will be open to the public. Fayetteville Area System of Transit (FAST) • Regular Service Community Café Conversation Held Jan. 16 The City of Fayetteville will hold its annual Community Café Conversation on Thursday, Jan. 16, 2019 at Smith Recreation Center, located at 1520 Slater Ave. The event will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. and allows Fayetteville citizens to answer questions that can help shape the future of the community. Questions that will be asked include, but are not limited to: • What are the top priorities for the City of Fayetteville • What services need to improve? • What does success look like? • How can the City promote transparency and accountability for results? Input from the questions will be incorporated into the City's Strategic Plan, which guides future efforts and budget decisions. Anyone can attend, however citizens are encour- aged to reserve their seat quickly by calling the City at 910-433-1979 or emailing your RSVP to atebbe@ci.fay.nc.us. A drawing will be held at the end of the event for gift certificates to several local businesses as a way of saying, "thank you" to the participants. Fayetteville Regional Airport Announces Launch of New Website Fayetteville Regional Airport is proud to announce the launch of their newly redesigned website, www.flyfay.com. The new website features a user-friendly design that will better serve the community and its travelers. Some of the key features include homepage widgets to better direct visitors to content, a travel planner for easy flight booking, and a dedicated news page where visitors can get updates on all current airport initiatives and events.
