He was a son of the late A.P. "Leck" Spangler, Sr. and Vera Warlick Spangler. In addition to his par- ents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mable Joyce Williamson Spangler and one brother, Robert Spangler. Survivors include two sons, Terry Spangler and wife Patricia of Connelly Springs and Todd Spangler and wife Brenda of Lawndale; daughter, Wanda Boggs and husband Kenny of Shelby; two brothers, Ray Spangler and Amos Spangler both of Shelby; two sisters, Margaret Wilson and Faye Towery both of Shelby; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren. The funeral service was held at Double Shoals Baptist Church. Burial fol- lowed in the church cem- etery. He was the son of the late William Lee Padgett and Irene Hallman Padgett. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by four brothers; McLeon, Howard, Hill, and Eddie Padgett and one sister, Ruth Hughes. Rev. Padgett is survived by his wife, Barbara Hobbs Padgett; four children; Mark Padgett and wife Maritza of San Jose, CR, Sharon Padgett Wilson and husband Bruce of Shelby, Nathan Padgett and wife Ann of Powell, TN, Douglas Padgett and wife Sharron of Dayton, TN, seven grandchildren; sisters; Elizabeth Coesens and Edna Holloway; and one brother Leroy Padgett. WILLIAM "BILL" LESTER BLANTON Bill Blanton, 91, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on December 7, 2019. He was born to the late Lester Blanton and Omie Williams Blanton and was preceded in death by a son, Steve Blanton; a grandson; his brothers, James, Marvin and Victor Blanton; sisters, Margie Hutchins and Louise Blanton; and two infant siblings, Virgie and Berty Blanton. Mr. Blanton is survived by his sons, Keith Blanton and Phillip Blanton and wife Kathy, all of Kings Mountain, NC; sister, Catherine Day and husband Don of Grover, NC; ex-wife, Eloise Hamrick; and twelve grandchildren and many great grandchildren. MARCUS JAMES "MARK" ELLIS Marcus James "Mark" Ellis, 61, of Blacksburg, passed away December 6, 2019 He was the son of Marvin Ellis and the late Virginia Merle Ellis. In addition to his father, Mr. Ellis is survived by a daugh- ter, Sandra Lynn Ellis; a son, Marcus James Lamar Ellis; a sister, Tina Ellis; and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death a brother, Kenneth Ray Ellis and a sister, Gwendolyn Kay Gilliam. Funeral services were held in the Gordon Mortuary Chapel. The Blacksburg location of Gordon Mortuary is serving the family. SHARON "MARLENE" GREENE Sharon "Marlene" Greene, age 71, of Lawndale, NC, passed away on December 5, 2019. Marlene was born to the late Mack Lewis and Virginia Lewis Painter. In addition to her par- ents, she was preceded in death by one daughter, Amy Greene and a sister, Geraldine Shedd. Ms. Greene is survived by her son, Scott Greene (Hannah) of Henrietta; brother, Richard Lewis of Tennessee; three grandchil- dren and a great-grandson. He was the son of the late G.G. and Maxie Pearson Ledbetter. Mr. Ledbetter served our country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Everett, Ray, and Travis Ledbetter; and sister, Nellie Weaver. He is survived by his wife, Betty Ledbetter; sons, Darrell Ledbetter and wife Donna, and Shawn Ledbetter and wife Didi; daughter, Carmen McSwain and husband Jeff; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; sister, Brenda Bettis; and brother, Sherrill Ledbetter, all of Shelby. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Bill Hartgrove, Harry Lee Hartgrove Jr., Mattie Sue Hartgrove Deal, Ruth Hartgrove, Minnie Bell Hartgrove, Charlie Hartgrove, Willie Hartgrove, Bobby Hartgrove, Kenneth Hartgrove and Geraldine Hartgrove. Mr. Hartgrove is survived by his wife, Revenia Mobley Hartgrove; step-sons, Willie Beam (Tracy), Steven Beam, Sr., Chuck Beam (Trina) all of Shelby; one step-daughter, Averteena Burris (Marvin) also of Shelby; one brother, Roger Hartgrove (Linda); and one sister, Mary Frances Hartgrove Bess.
