The ohio state university page 3 B eta Phi Chapter has been diligently working to better not only ourselves, but the whole Greek community the past year. While we realize there is still work to be done, we are proud of the accomplishments we have to date. ABOVE-AVERAGE ACADEMICS We have a cumulative chapter GPA of 3.51, ranking us fourth in the IFC. We are 0.09 points above the all-Greek average, 0.2 points above the all-Greek men average, and 0.22 points above the undergraduate average. Our academic chairman, David Marsh '21, has driven the chapter to keep improving. We are extremely proud of our academic accomplishments and are excited to see what we can achieve in the future. BUCKEYETHON AND ADOPT-A-SCHOOL We are heavily involved in two main programs throughout the year, Buckeyethon and Adopt- a-School. In the spring, Buckeyethon team captain Logan Good '20 recruited more than 70 active members to participate in the 24-hour dance marathon. Along with our partner Pi Beta Phi, we raised $38,645 for cancer research, the highest amount raised by any fraternity/sorority pairing! For Adopt-a-School, brothers go to a local elementary school and act as academic mentors for an hour at a time. We had more than 25 members participate in this program, meaning there was a ΔΤΔ brother in the classroom every day of the week. It is truly remarkable seeing the impact our members have on these children's lives through our brothers' mentorship. SUCCESSFUL FIRST DELTIVAL In August we held our first Deltival. Philanthropy Chairman David Carlton '21 put together the event along with help from the philanthropy committee. There was tie-dying, a dunk tank, sno-cones, popcorn, and more. We raised over $3,300 to donate toward JDRF. FOUNDERS' DAY Last spring, we had our most successful Founders' Day dinner to date. Tom Calhoon '70 put together a wonderful event for undergraduates and alumni alike, with more than 50 undergraduate members attending and 25 alumni visiting from all over the state and country. It was an event that positively impacted everyone there. Beta Phi has been moving in the right direction year after year and our accomplishments have shown it. However, we realize there is room for improvement in everything we do, and we will continue to better ourselves day in and day out. Fraternally, Andrew Hauer '21, Chapter President hauer.25@osu.edu | (513) 498-2084 Chapter Celebrates Accomplishments While Pushing to Improve ΔΤΔ brothers and Pi Beta Phi sisters raised over $38,000 at the 2019 Buckeyethon Dance Marathon. ΔΤΔ brothers won the intramural flag football championship in February 2019. Hunter Noble '22 and Aidan McCormack '21 won the Spikeball tournament at the first-ever Deltival.
