Hair, Nails, and Pedicure Services | C P C Many thanks to all who came to our 6th annual Soup and Chowder Festival. And extra thanks to all who helped out in any way to make it work. It takes a community to make something like this work, and this shows what a wonderful com- munity we have. Every year it gets a little better. If anyone has any suggestions on how we could make it better please send me a private message. Several wrote on their ballots that they only got a small amount of soup. I am sorry for those that were not happy with the portions. But this not the place to go if you want a big bowl of your favorite soup. It is a contest. Everything is donated. And in the end all the funds taken in go to the Friends Of the Quarezsite Food Bank to assist those truly in need. We did have 2 businesses back out at the last minute, due to rea- sons beyond their controll. I wish them well and hope to see them join in next year. The Peoples Choise, went to the Road Runners Rock and Gem Club, voted by all who attended, was their very tasty Beef Stew made with prime rib. Voted by the Judg- es, First place was LeDell Gresham with her Oregon style Clam Chow- der, second place was Times 3 Res- taurant with their tasty Hamburg Soup, third place was Laurie Cur- ran and Alletta Hanna wirh their tasty Refried Bean soup. With a visit from Santa and 2 won- derful elves along with the music how could one ask any better from volunteers, for the good of those truly in need? I am sorry. I forgot to mention all the wonderful desserts. Ines Gibbs was selected as the best dessert by the judges. With her Pineapple Sheet Cake. I owe her a Pine needle or sweet grass basket. And will get together with her soon to discuss how she wants me to build it. Thank you so much to the QIA for allowing us to use your facility to have the event, and to let some use your wonderful kitchen to cook in. Many thanks to Thrivent for once again helping supporting our efforts to raise funds for our food bank. As a Thrivent Action Team Event. T D M OPEN YEAR ROUND!
