B E T A C H I C H A P T E R O F K A P P A K A P P A G A M M A Pride in Our Past, Foundation for the Future The New 238 E. Maxwell A Beautiful Second Place to Call Home I t's hard to believe a year has already passed since Beta Chi celebrated the grand opening and dedication of our new chapter house at 238 E. Maxwell. We have so much to be proud of as alumnae between a beautiful second place to call home and the sisters who live in it. While our undergraduate sisters are thriving and love everything about the new chapter house, the Pride in Our Past, Foundation for the Future: The New 238 E. Maxwell capital campaign is not complete. To the 214 sisters who've shown their pride by giving to the campaign, the campaign board sincerely thanks you. Beta Chi would not be the same sisterhood it is today without each of you. To date, we've raised $522,409 toward our $600,000 goal. Our goal is within reach, but this is where the "Foundation for the Future" part of the campaign slogan is imperative to Beta Chi's long-term success. As a sisterhood of 2,200- plus successful women, we need more alumnae to join our list of donors. Sisters, we need your help to ensure that Beta Chi also has pride in its future. If you have any questions about giving to Beta Chi, reach out to a sister who you know on the donor list on page 2. It's not only a great opportunity to learn about supporting our sisterhood, but a chance to reconnect and share memories of your Kappa Kappa Gamma experience. With a gift of $2,500 or more, your name will be included on a donor plaque which will be placed in a prominent area of the new chapter house. Contributing to the campaign isn't meant to be a burden, but a prideful feeling about committing to Beta Chi's future. By participating in our five-year pledge program, a $2,500 gift equates to be $41.67 per month. All gifts for the campaign are tax deductible and a pledge card is inserted with this newsletter for your convenience. You, our Beta Chi alumnae, made the dream of the new 238 E. Maxwell a reality. We hope you will stop by the chapter house the next time you're in Lexington to see how amazing your home away from home is in person. No matter how far away you live, a gift to the capital campaign ensures your presence will always be felt at Beta Chi. Will you say "yes" to Beta Chi? Don't forget our class participation challenge ends on December 31—make a gift today! Loyally, Katti Bowling Nash '02 Campaign Chairman katti.nash@gmail.com The Beta Chi chapter house glistens in the sunshine as alumnae return home for Founder's Day. A t Beta Chi, we understand the true value of each dollar donated to the Pride in Our Past, Foundation for the Future: The New 238 E. Maxwell capital campaign. As the chapter puts your dollars to good use, we also want what's best for your financial interest. One way to ensure you make the most of your Beta Chi gift—both for the well-being of the chapter and your long-term financing—is by bunching. When aggregating three or more years of charitable giving into one year, also referred to as bunching, you can itemize the full amount over the standard deduction. By setting up a donor advised fund, you can make a pledge payment and then choose how you want to distribute the installments over the next three-plus years. Benefits of using a DAF include getting a deduction of full market value and avoiding paying capital gains taxes. An alternative to bunching is IRA qualified charitable distributions, making it possible to transfer a maximum of $100,000 annually directly to charity and attributing it to your annual required minimum distribution. It isn't taxable or deductible, so there's no need to itemize or deduct limitations. If you have any questions about how to more feasibly give to the Pride in Our Past campaign, please contact our campaign coordinator at (785) 843-1661. Bunching Your Beta Chi Gifts Beta Chi celebrates the addition of 113 new members on Bid Day.
