e were thrilled to welcome 113 new
members, 99 of whom went through
formal recruitment and 14 who participated
in continuous open bidding. This successful
fall recruitment was also aided by the 20-plus
alumnae who returned to Lexington to assist
with mock rotation round—thank you!
Building Bonds at Beta Chi
We had a great time getting to know our new
members during the Kamp Kappa new member
retreat at North Central 4-H Camp in Carlisle,
Kentucky. The new members and actives served
as camp counselors, participating in activities
such as a ropes course, time capsule making,
bracelet making, tie-dying, and a paint slide.
Connecting with Alumnae and Parents
Our Beta Chi alumnae have demonstrated
to our new members that the Kappa Kappa
Gamma experience isn't limited to four years.
We were excited to have more than 30 alumnae
in attendance for Founder's Day on October
13. Congratulations to the six alumnae who
received their 50-year badge!
It's also important for us to share the positive
impact Beta Chi is making with our parents.
We enjoyed spending time with them during
Parent's Weekend by playing corn hole, eating
ice cream, and supporting local Lexington
business by setting up a pop-up shop.
Leaving a ΚΚΓ Footprint in Lexington
The women of Beta Chi believe in making
a difference at UK and in the Lexington
community. We've done exactly that through
our Kappa Kupcakes and Kappa Karwash
fundraisers. Kappa Kupcakes raised money for
the Kappa Foundation by selling cupcakes on
campus, and Kappa Karwash supported our
Danceblue team.
We've also enjoyed our partnership with the
children at Millcreek Elementary. Our sisters
participated in their Reading is Fundamental
event and made 1,200 goody bags filled with
school supplies for Millcreek students.
The successes at Beta Chi wouldn't be
possible without the support of our wonderful
alumnae. If you happen to be in Lexington,
please feel free to stop by the chapter house to
visit with us!
