Alwa y s FREE! 25 Nancy's Kitchen Paul Winer's Cartoon ����� | S������ RAIN G�����-B��� (SEE PHOTOS PAGE 31) Christmas Light Parade set for Dec. 7 The annual Christmas Light Pa- rade sponsored by the Quartzsite Area Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with the Town of Quartzsite will be held on Satur- day, December 7th 2019 at 7 p.m. Line up starts at 5 p.m. in the Quartzsite Improvement Associa- tion (QIA) parking lot, 235 E. Iron- wood. Participants please enter from Palo Verde. The parade will travel east on Main St. to Plymouth Rd. where it will turn left onto N. Plymouth Rd. and head north to E. Quail Trail. Parade entrants will pass the Commununity Center and proceed onto the Football. This year the judges stand will be lo- cated at the corner of N. Plymouth & E. Quail Trail, across from Town Hall. If you would like to be a judge for the parade please contact the Chamber at 928-927-5200. Following the parade, Town of Quartzsite will host the After Par- ty at the Community Center with refreshments and presentation of awards. There will also be Santa and Mrs. Claus to greet the chil- dren and take photos. Applications for the parade are now available at the Quartzsite Chamber & Tourism. There is no entry fee. All entries are welcome as long as they are in the theme of Christmas and are lit so the judges can see them well. This year, en- trants will receive their numbers at the Parade. For more informa- tion, or to receive an application for the parade, please come in to the Chamber offi ce Wed. Thurs & Friday 10am-2pm, 1240 W. Main St., or call 928-927-5200. Saturday, December 14th will be a busy day at the Quartzsite Im- provement Assoc. (QIA) with two family friendly fundraisers occur- ing. Operation Hero Comfort and Friends of the Quartzsite Food Bank are teamed up to have the largest and fun fi lled fundraiser in Quartzsite! Operation Hero Comfort An- nual Silent Auction will be held from 11:00 am–4:00 pm in the Main Hall and the 6th Annual Soup and Chowder Festival starts at 12 noon until chowder runs out. Funds raised from Soup & Chow- der Festival will help keep the food bank going for those in our com- munity who need their services. For more information, contact Pam 603-834-0847. There will be a Dessert Contest, Chinese Raffl e, and Live Music. Operation Hero Comfort Silent Auction fundraiser supports care packages sent to our men and women serving our country and are in harms way. Funds raised will help cover the cost of postage or to purchase items requested Saturday, Dec. 14 offers two big fundraisers that are not donated. If you have items you would like to donate to the auction you can drop them off at the offi ce of the Apartments, Readers Oasis Bookstore or call Anita at 763 639-9330. In the Main Hall, there will be lots of tables fi lled with many items donated by businesses, vendors, crafters and individual people. Come over and bid on the items you want, go enjoy soup and chowder and return to see if you need to up your bid. If you can't stay until 4:00pm that is okay; if you are the winning bid we you will be called on Sunday. There will have Christmas cards to send to the troops for you to sign, as well as a box/bin for you to do- nate items that we send in the care packages. The QIA is located at 235 E. Iron- wood, Quartzsite. Come enjoy Soup & Chowder Festival, Opera- tion Hero Comfort's Silent Auc- tion, good music, and have a good time while supporting two local charities. Santa's Workshop Fundraiser huge success!
