Epsilon Calls Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta • University of South Dakota • Fall 2019 F rom the first moments we breathed life into the campaign to today, we can look back at the process of building Epsilon Chapter's new home and be proud. As 2019 winds down, we are so close to meeting our campaign goal of $1.4 million. The 245 loyal alumnae who have rallied together and raised $1,372,339 reaffirmed what a special sisterhood we have at Epsilon. While we accomplished the main goal of building a beautiful new chapter house, this campaign proved thaat Alpha Xi Delta's values are still alive and well in all of us. We stirred up a passion for our sisterhood that was long buried for many and started to rebuild our alumnae connections. You just need to look at the sisters who have reconnected at events and reunions and the regular alumnae gatherings being organized to see the bonds of sisterhood in action.. The generosity of our sisters is humbling. We have sisters who have responded to every campaign challenge, pushing a little bit more, to help get us toward our goals. Then we have the sisters who sent in a $25 gift with a note wishing they could do more. Whatever the giving level, our sisters connecting to Epsilon holds a deeper meaning with a passion for our sisterhood stirred by memories in Alpha Xi Delta. There are also unsung heroes like Bonnie Untereiner Bjork '73, Kay Cameron Olson '68, Mary Roth Runge '85—sisters who go the extra mile. If you see these sisters, make sure you let them know how much they are appreciated for all the little things they do behind the scenes. We owe endless gratitude to the sisters who have stepped forward and filled in as we searched for a new house director (housemother). Spending a few nights at the chapter house was fulfilling on a completely different level. Our thanks to Katherine Niedert Millar '65, Connie Cottington Colwill '66, Kay Cameron Olson '68, Bonnie Untereiner Bjork '73, Kim Jensen Diedrich '87, Heidi Millar '93, Cristi Oswald McClelland '89, and Mary Duncan '98, who gave of their time to serve temporarily in this position. The efforts of so many sisters make Epsilon one of the premier sororities at South Dakota and nationwide. With the holiday season upon us, we are so thankful for all of the alumnae who have continued to support our sisters through the campaign and attending events. Epsilon wishes you a fun and safe last few days of 2019. Let's start 2020 by celebrating $1.4 million raised for our beloved sisterhood.
