Quartzsite, AZ - Over 100 OHV (Off Highway Vehicle) enthusiasts at-
tended the Sunriders OHV club meeting on November 8 at the QIA
(Quartzsite Improvement Assoc.) to hear representatives from AZ Game
& Fish, KOFA Wilderness, Yuma Proving Grounds, Quartzsite Police. Plus
Josh & Andrew from FastNetUSA.com explained the new high speed wire-
less Internet opening soon in Quartzsite. Dee Pfl eger of Arizona Game &
Fish explained there are two types of OHV decal, both of which cost $25
(plus a $5 processing fee) and are valid for one year from the purchase
date. The decal types include: 1) A resident OHV decal, which is available
to Arizona residents and can be purchased through the Arizona Depart-
ment of Transportation's Motor Vehicle Division (MVD) offi ces statewide,
at an authorized third-party MVD
service provider or online at www.
servicearizona.com. 2) A nonresi-
dent OHV decal, which can only be
purchased online through an Ari-
zona Game and Fish Department
portal account. The decal is not sold
at AZGFD offi ces.
As of Sept. 1, 2019, the state of Ari-
zona requires nonresidents wanting
to operate their OHV within the state
to purchase a nonresident OHV de-
cal. The decal must be purchased
prior to riding an OHV within the
state. Decals are not transferable
between OHVs and each machine
must have its own sticker.
The nonresident OHV decal will be
mailed, but could take up to a month
to arrive. Purchasers can show their
receipt (or a screenshot of it) for up
to 30 days as proof of decal pur-
chase. Owners/riders must have the
receipt readily available if requested
by law enforcement or until they re-
ceive their decal(s).
Plfeger and others from Game &
fi sh are available to answer ques-
tions related to their role of off-
roading in Arizona. Their offi ce
number is 928-342-0091. To learn
