Page 3 Pi Kappa Alpha G iven the advances in technology and the increasing accountability needed in today's Greek life, there is a nationwide trend for fraternities and sororities to implement surveillance systems. Through the efforts of Home Association Board Member Tom Maddox '71, the Beta Phi Home Association has decided to install a new surveillance system, which we agree will help protect our members and their guests. This will provide us the accountability needed to ensure the Chapter House stays in excellent condition. This project will initially be funded through a loan from the Beta Phi Foundation to the Home Association. Cameras will be placed on the exterior of the Chapter House and inside in first-floor common areas, stairwells, and the kitchen. Installation will begin in the next few weeks, and the new system includes on-site storage of footage for up to 60 days and a training program. We believe this new project is in line with our commitment to providing a safe and educational space for active members to grow as young men because it provides the Home Association with an additional resource to ensure safety issues can be addressed in a timely manner. Additionally, this is another step toward guaranteeing that the Beta Phi Home Association, and its management of the Chapter House, remains a shining example of how fraternity housing should be conducted.
