1 Minnesota Alpha of Pi Beta Phi House Association 1109 5th St. SE Minneapolis, MN 55414 Dear Sorority Alumnae: Congratulations to the Minnesota Alpha House Association on your decision to renovate your chapter house. e administration of the University of Minnesota has appreciated the leadership your undergraduates have provided the university for over 130 years, including this year's Panhellenic President. Since its founding in 1890, Pi Beta Phi has added rich traditions to the University of Minnesota and its Greek community. Your alumnae have gone on to key business, professional, political and academic positions throughout Minneapolis and the nation. e Greek community is alive and well at the University of Minnesota. After this fall's recruitment the sorority community has over 1,500 members in 11 formally recruiting National Panhellenic Conference (NPC) chapters. ese large numbers can be challenging to manage in some facilities without renovations. Many fraternities and sororities are planning and carrying out renovations to improve the life-safety features of their chapter facilities. ese projects can only happen as a result of support from alumnae. Your decision to provide an excellent living and social environment, first-rate study and meeting accommodations, as well as up-to-date computer facilities will enhance the overall university experience for your undergraduates. Fraternity and sorority alumni remain loyal to their university and are an important piece of the UMN campus. A high proportion of leadership in the University of Minnesota Alumni Association and the University of Minnesota Foundation are Greek alumni. University administrators and faculty realize that something in the Greek experience fosters involvement and loyalty. Alumni engagement is critical to the successes of our chapters and I hope that you will get engaged in some way with Minnesota Alpha. If you are already a volunteer or donor, thank you for all you do to keep our community strong and healthy. A strong university depends on strong undergraduates and supportive alumni. Pi Beta Phi, through its undergraduates and alumnae, has contributed to UMN's strength for close to 130 years. Your support of the current building project will help ensure Minnesota Alpha continues to thrive on UMN's campus. Best wishes on your campaign. Sincerely, Maggie Towle Interim Vice Provost for Student Affairs and Dean of Students Office for Student Affairs
