Illinois Beta posted a spring GPA of 3.04, marking the third consecutive semester with a GPA north of 3.0. We have several exciting social events planned for the semester with the ladies of Gamma Phi Beta, Delta Delta Delta, Theta, and Delta Gamma, including exchanges, a barn dance, and our annual ΣΑΕrch and Rescue Barcrawl. Dad's Weekend this year will take place November 1-3, and we are looking forward to a weekend filled with football and tailgating. Illinois Beta's fall recruitment saw the addition of 30 new brothers, bringing our total membership to 124. We welcomed new brothers from Illinois, New Jersey, New York, and Maryland. Our executive board is working in coordination with our housing corporation, F&H, to implement several house improvements, which have included brand-new couches, TVs, and bedroom furniture. Sam Roesler '22 traveled to Louisville, Ky., in June to attend the 163rd anniversary National Convention on behalf of our chapter. "It was both an honor and a privilege to represent Illinois Beta at the largest chapter meeting of ΣAE. Getting to meet brothers from across the country was an awesome experience," Sam said. Over the last six months, Brothers Gabe Funk '21 and Ryan Gattari '21, in coordination with Illinois Beta, raised over $14,000 for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Organization. Both Funk and Gattari participated in the Ride to Cure Diabetes in La Crosse, Wis., where they biked 100 miles to raise awareness. Ten brothers also volunteered for Gamma Phi Beta's annual Feed My Starving Children philanthropy event, where they packaged food to send to those in need in developing nations. Fresh off our intramural basketball championship, Illinois Beta is fielding an intramural softball team this fall. Our team is currently 2-0 and plays every Monday night. On behalf of the chapter, I would like to thank you, our alumni, for your enduring support. Feel free to reach out or stop by the house anytime—the brothers and I would be thrilled to have you.
