OMICRON UPDATE 5 I am pleased to report these past few months have shown strong growth and success for the Omicron Chapter of Kappa Alpha Order. We excelled in academics, recruitment, and service, while expanding the chapter's presence on campus. Additionally, several of our members hold leadership positions in different organizations outside Omicron Chapter. THE CREAM OF THE CROP We had a great recruitment this summer and competed well against the other large fraternities, such as FIJI, Texas Rho, and SigEp. We added 54 new members, bringing the chapter roster up to 183 members. OMICRON RECOGNIZED BY KA NATIONAL FOR ACADEMIC SUCCESS Academically, the chapter ranked sixth among UT-Austin fraternities with a 3.38 GPA. We were also recognized by the Kappa Alpha National Organization with an award for academic excellence at the Dallas Province Council in February. While Omicron has collectively improved its academic standing, our active and new members are striving for more success in the classroom. FOOTBALL TAILGATES FULL OF FUN FOR KAS YOUNG AND OLD We welcomed Texas football season with open arms by hosting an amazing tailgate before the LSU game on September 7. We gladly hosted the KA Alpha Gamma Chapter from LSU and look forward to visiting them next year in Baton Rouge. The chapter was also thankful to meet the many alumni who stopped by the house before the game. Omicron Chapter hosted another great gathering on October 19 for its annual alumni and parents tailgate at the Manor before the Longhorns played Kansas. Thank you to all the alumni who attended our football tailgates this season. We hope those who haven't been able to make it can join us for a tailgate soon. THANK YOU, ALUMNI, FOR CAMPAIGN SUPPORT The alumni who have contributed their time and money to the campaign mean so much to the actives at Omicron. We're enjoying the incredible remodel of the kitchen after the housing corporation worked tirelessly this summer to complete it. The new facilities and equipment allow us to provide a quality, balanced meal plan to all members. It's easy to show off the property to potential members and guests. The chapter is beyond thankful for the improvements that are constantly being made to the Manor. We welcome all alumni to the Manor at any time to see the updates and meet chapter members.
