President Jean invites all VFW Auxiliary 769 members and their guests to join us at Breakfast each morning 8-10 am; Meat Draws each Wednesday, 2-4 pm; $1.00 Tacos each Thursday, 12:00 pm. And our members to join us at our meetings this year to as- sist with ideas of additional activities that could be offered. New ideas are always welcome. She wants to make this a memorable year for all members. Additional activities being planned are included in the VFW ad elsewhere in this edition. POW/MIA RECOGNITION VFW Comrades did a fl ag raising on Fri- day, Sept 20 in memory of all those heroes who are/were prisoners of War as well as those who were missing in action. In ad- dition to lowering and raising the Ameri- can Flag, the POW/MIA fl ag was raised. Following the Flag raising ceremony, Comrade Bob Braa and Auxiliary member Gayle Holt demonstrated the Story of the Missing Man Table to all in attendance. VFW POST 769 members and Auxiliary members presented the Story of the Missing Man Table to Quartzsite Elementary Students. They explained the meaning of the table, chair, how items are placed on the table and why. VFW Com- rades spoke about what it meant for them to serve our country. VFW 769 Auxiliary held a fundraiser car wash and Bake sale at the Post raising funds for our Youth Program in Quartzsite. The VFW and Auxil- iary Membership Chairmen also had a Membership Booth to encourage new members to join. Other such events are being planned for the up- coming year.
