MSEd Special Education Choose the path that works for you. Special education master's candidates may choose to pursue the program on a full or part-time basis. Candidates enrolled in full-time study should plan to complete the program in 18–24 months; candidates enrolled part time should plan to complete the Master of Science in Special Education two to three years. DEGREE REQUIREMENTS (Duration of Program: 2 Years) This degree is designed for individuals who already hold an initial certificate in Childhood, Early Childhood, or Adolescent education. The program prepares teachers to enhance their knowledge of disabilities, become more effective in their classroom, and also to be specialists in their schools. The program is a 30-credit-hour program that leads to a certificate in Teaching Students with Disabilities.
