THE DELTA CHI EDUCATIONAL FOUNDATION The KnighT erranT Fall 2019 The Future of The Educational Foundation Is in Your Hands How Every Brother Can Make a Difference W e all have stories about how or why we joined our beloved brotherhood. They are as unique as the individual brothers who share them. Most interesting to me are the elements of commonality within most of those stories. They revolve around a small set of "whys": why we join, why we get involved, why we work to build successful franchises based on our founders' ideals, and why we continue to individually support the efforts of our Brotherhood of a Lifetime. It is this last "why" that will drive our foundation in the coming years, perhaps best defined by the phrase "Friends and Funds." Recruiting and fundraising are the two impact areas where we can all contribute. The Delta Chi Educational Foundation has never been in a better position to affect positive change for our entire fraternal organization. We are focused on growing our donor base to build camaraderie, raise spirits, and decrease pressure on our most loyal benefactors. Most importantly, we are following a plan to fund immediate and long-term organizational needs. Our model is that of other successful foundations, like fellow Greek social organizations or our alma mater institutions. An expanded donor base provides for the general operations fund, increases brothers' involvement, and offers opportunities for endowment campaigns. Imagine for a moment reaching the point where our hallmark leadership programs are funded in perpetuity. This is the mission that a seasoned, dynamic foundation with supportive donors will fulfill. Here's where you come in. Reach out to a brother on our development staff to talk about what programs and areas of need mean the most to you. The habit of being a supportive donor is steadily built over time. Consider making the donation necessary for you to move up to the next recognition level, however modest it may be. Then, as soon as you are able, please consider joining our Trustee Society of donors. Setting aside $19.23 a week is a good donor exercise for which you will thank yourself at tax time, and it will place you among the most ardent supporters of our beloved brotherhood.
