Maxwell FOUNDATION FOR THE FUTURE Donate Today to Make an Impact on Beta Chi T he excitement around our chapter house project is at an all-time high. We want to thank everyone who has contributed financially to the Pride in Our Past, Foundation for the Future: The New 238 E. Maxwell capital campaign. To date, we have raised $515,309 toward our stretch goal of $600,000. We have made great progress with our fundraising, but we need to increase participation to ensure Beta Chi is on a solid financial foundation. So far, 206 sisters, or only 10%, have made a commitment to the campaign. With the average participation rate among Greek campaigns being 20-25%, we know we can do better. Sisters, the next step is yours. Help us meet our $600,000 goal to help pay off our mortgage early. If you have been considering a gift to the campaign, please remember these reasons to send in your gift today: • We know you want to be a part of this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. • Many sisters have taken advantage of our convenient five-year pledge program to maximize their giving potential. • Any donor who contributes $2,500 or more will have her name listed on a plaque in a prominent area of the new chapter house. • If you know of a sister who has not stepped forward with a gift, encourage her to donate by sharing what inspired you to give. If you haven't seen the chapter house yet, please consider visiting this fall! The renovations are breathtaking, and we are so proud of the home we can provide to our undergraduate sisters. Any gift to help pay off our debt early will benefit our chapter's financial footing. Loyally, Katti Bowling Nash '02 Campaign Chairman katti.nash@gmail.com The graduating class of 2019. K errigan Samons '15 was the first member of her family to join Greek life and was uncertain what the experience would provide. "When I came to the Beta Chi Chapter house, I met women who were similar to me and, most importantly, made me feel at home. KKΓ and Beta Chi played a huge role in shaping me into the woman I am today. By instilling leadership and teamwork skills combined with compassion for others, I have truly become a better person and have seen my full potential as I become an alumna." Kerrigan held various leadership roles within the chapter as well as on the UK campus: Lewis Honors College member and ambassador, event chairman in 2017 and recruitment coordinator in 2018, member of the DanceBlue programming committee in 2018, Kids Cancer Alliance Indian Summer Camp volunteer for three years, and member of the oncology career training program.
