SUMMER 2019
Indiana Sigma Prepares
for Its 50th Anniversary
Your Help Is Needed to Make
It the Best Event Possible
T
he 2018-19 academic year was a good one for Indiana Sigma. We accomplished many of the
goals we set as a Chapter and are working hard this summer to return next fall ready to do
greater things. As we set our goals for next year, we are asking you to assist us with five things
this summer in honor of Indiana Sigma's 50th Anniversary:
1. Provide us names and contact information for young men you know attending Indiana State next
year who would make good members of the fraternity. We also encourage you to reach out to
those men and let them know you are recommending them for membership and share the ways
in which the fraternity positively impacted you. Send those to: indianasigma1969@gmail.com
2. Register/purchase a ticket and attend the 50th Anniversary October 25-27. You can get
your ticket at: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/indiana-sigma-of-sae-50th-anniversary-
tickets-61050458565
3. Call pledge brothers, your big brother, little sisters, and others you want to reconnect with
and encourage them to attend the Sigma 50th with you.
4. Send us photos and fraternity memorabilia we can use for the Sigma 50th. Send those to:
indianasigma1969@gmail.com or via mail to 831 N. 5th St., Terre Haute, IN 47807
5. Finally, make a tax-deductible financial contribution to one of two projects we want to have
completed before the Sigma 50th this fall. More information on those projects are in this newsletter.
We look forward to seeing you in October!

Original
Lions Set to
Return Home
A
fter a lengthy negotiation and
payment, we are pleased to announce
the original lions, which have sat on the
front porch of 1320 South 6th St. (Sigma's
first home) since the 1970s, are being
returned to Indiana Sigma—along with
enough yellow brick from the old front
porch to build two new pedestals for the
lions.
We intend to place the lions at the back
entrance/patio area of Sigma's new house
where we plan to construct a new gas
fire pit/grill and seating area. This area is
heavily used by the Chapter and includes
the metal ΣΑΕ letters that were on the
outside of Burford and Sandison Halls—
Sigma's homes from 1984-96.
We are seeking $10,000 in tax-deductible
contributions to restore and remount these
historic lions and to construct the fire pit/
grill and seating area. Brothers who donate
$100 or more to the project will have their
name and pin number engraved on brick
pavers that will surround the fire pit. We
plan to rededicate the lions and dedicate
the fire pit/grill the weekend of the 50th
Anniversary.
