Gates open at 9:00AM tile 4:00PM. $5.00 admission and concessions will be available. March 4th ��� 8th Western Youth Junior Basketball Tournament Boys ages 13 to 15 from Western North Carolina will compete for the Western Youth Athletic Association���s Junior Basketball Championship. Games begin at 6:00PM each night in the Shelby Parks & Recreation Gym. Admission is $2.00 each night. March 18th ���Couch to 5K Program��� A Walking/Running program that will go for 11 weeks on Mondays, Wednesdays and Thursdays from 4 PM til 4:30PM. Men and women ages 16 and over with a cost of $20 plus entry fee to a 5K scheduled for June 1st. Sign ups are going on now at the Shelby City Park Of���ce. March 23rd Shelby City Park 2013 Easter Egg Hunt/Cleveland County Brain Injury Awareness Day Kids ages 2 ��� 10 bring your Easter Basket and join the Easter Bunny & Truman the Kidsville News Mascot to hunt for over 6000 eggs at the Shelby City Park. Egg Hunt and fun from 9:00AM til 2:00PM. Free Bicycle Helmets will be given to all kids and information about Brain Injuries will be given out. Free in���atable rides, Free Carrousel & Train rides and other games will also be available. Come join the fun. Timmy has been employed by the City of Shelby for 10 years. He has been married for 19 years to his wife, Angie. They have 2 children, LaShonda and Adrian. Timmy���s past-times include watching the TIMMY THOMPSON Dallas Cowboys and he is a big baseball fan. A free Tennis Clinic for ages K-6th Grade on the old Shelby Middle School Tennis Courts. A Free Hotdog Lunch will be provided for those participating in the clinic. The time is from 10 AM til 2PM. This is a kick off to our 2013 Summer Tennis Program at the Shelby City Park. Donnie Splawn, CCTA President, is our new Summer Tennis Director. April 27th & 28th, 2013 Foothills Merry Go Round Festival Two big days of fun and food! The absolute best carnival midway in the history of the Festival and the annual Fireworks Extravaganza. June 7th thru 9th Sharks Aquatics Club Swim Meet Over 400 swimmers from across the southeast will compete at the Shelby City Park with swimmers in the water beginning on Friday the 7th at 6:00PM. The event is free to the public and continues thru Sunday the 9th. June 28th thru 30th SAC Invitational Swim Meet Over 500 swimmers converge at the Shelby Aquatics Center for a 3 day event. The event is free to the public with swimmers in the water Friday at 6:00PM. July 4th ���Shelby City Park���s Annual July 4th Celebration��� Horseshoe Tournament, Corn Hole Tournament and In���atable Carnival in the air conditioned City Park Gym highlight the day. A $3 armband covers the Carnival in the Gym plus free Carrousel and Train rides. At the City Park Aquatics Center admission is $1 to swim. More information coming at a later date.
