MAY 26-June 1, 2019 WhAt's up! 43 featured dining guide story Advertorial Feature by james carlton | nwa Democrat-Gazette Village Inn Marks 25-Year Anniversary in Fayetteville G eorge Bab, President of Northwest Arkansas' Village Inn Restaurants, opened the Fayetteville Village Inn with a business partner 25 years ago this month. He branched out to open a second location in Bentonville only a few months later, followed by a third in Fort Smith. With breakfast, lunch, dinner and pies so good; the Village Inn difference was here to stay, and Northwest Arkansas has never looked back. May 23rd was the official 25-year anniversary of their Grand Opening, and it was business as usual for the local favorite. Village Inn is always finding new ways to keep their guests coming back with a fresh and exciting menu featuring a host of new breakfast features and, as always, the Best Pie in America — it's more than a slogan here, it's the truth! Bab takes great pride in his restaurants and employees. "It takes a lot of work to maintain quality like this," he said, "and I'm thankful for our employees and the wonderful job that they do." Each of his Village Inn locations employs several staff members that have remained loyal since the beginning, for a quarter of a century now! Of course, with the delicious menu choices and the stellar staff, the restaurant franchises have a healthy group of regular guests. "Serving good food in a clean environment is what we do, and seeing happy customers is the best part of my job," said Bab. "They become part of the family," he said, adding that some of the return customers have been coming there since they opened 25 years ago. Open 6 a.m. to midnight every day of the week (24-hours on weekends in Fayetteville), Village Inn may just become your new home away from home, too. You really have to try everything on the menu, but for starters, you can't go wrong with their breakfast classics like Belgian waffles, French toast, crepes, scratch-made buttermilk pancakes, or eggs Benedict. Their INN-credible V.I.B. platter, Expert Skillets and Omelettes are to die for; but don't make the mistake of thinking breakfast is the only way to go here. Bab let me in on a little secret: his favorite dish off the dinner menu is the Pot Roast, and the Garden Veggie Omelette is his go-to from the rest of the menu. Village Inn has a delightful and varied blend of lunch items as well; including their new Apple and Pecan Salad with Grilled Chicken, Crispy Chicken Bacon Ranch sandwich, All-World Double Cheeseburger, and you've got to try the Paris Griller sandwich with Tomato Basil soup from their "Perfect Pairings" menu. One of their newest featured breakfast plates is the Green Mountain Bowl, and it is spectacular. It's colorful and healthy; and with two poached eggs topped with Hollandaise, sliced avocado, tomato and chives served over fresh green spinach and crispy country potatoes; it's quite possibly the tastiest dish you'll eat this year. Or possibly ever. Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner and Pies Done Right
