Main - Quartzsite (one block east of Family Dollar) The Town Council of Quartzsite is now accepting applications from Quartzsite residents for consideration of appointment to two impend- ing vacant Town Council positions. You can pick up your application for Council position at the front counter of Town Hall, 465 N. Plymouth Ave., Quartzsite, AZ 85346. The Council will start reviewing complete applications of potential can- didates on May 31, 2019 and possibly select one or more applicants for interviews for the Council appointment. A Special Meeting will be held on June 4, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. for interview and possible appointments. Council vacancies will remain open until filled. Pursuant to Arizona Revised Statutes § 9-235, the Council shall fill a va- cancy until the next regularly scheduled Council election as the vacancy occurs more than thirty days before the nomination petition deadline. Qualifications for Council appointment are found in Arizona Revised Stat- utes, A.R.S. §9-232(A), which states in pertinent part the following: "A. A person shall not be a member of a city or town council unless, at the time of the election [appointment], the person is eighteen years old, is a qualified elector residing within the city or town at the time of the election [appointment], and has resided in the city or town for one year next pre- ceding the election [appointment], . . ." All complete applications shall be submitted to the Quartzsite Town Clerk and will be accepted until two (2) positions are filled. The transfer station is located north of Town, just off Hwy. 95, near the Sewer Treatment Plant. RV There Yet Summer Travel Series on YouTube Russ Varisco, of Quartzsite TV and RVer TV, is on the road! He left Quartzsite on May 8th and will traveling the backroads across the county. With over 19,000 sub- scribers and 3.6 million views on YouTube, RVerTV is dedicated to showing the Full Time RV Lifestyle. Featuring RV Travel Destinations, RV Repair, Do-It-Yourself RV Tips and Tricks. For this trip, he is traveling in a Ford Campervan. Viewers have watched Russ pack and ready his van for traveling, learned from his tips, and enjoyed videos showing Quartzsite at the end of the season, before he headed out on the road. Viewers will be able to watch Russ travel the backroads of America, as he shares his knowlege of the road, free camping spots, beauti- ful scenery, funny encounters with birds, and experiences along the way. Russ has been a wonderful ambassador for Quartzsite. Many folks told volunteers at the Cham- ber that Russ and his videos are the reason they came to Quartzsite this past season. Russ held a gathering in Quartzsite in January for his fans with hundreds attending. Russ has a play list of his travel videos for easy access on his site at www.youtube.com/user/rvertv.
