Restoration Work Continues at Mu of DKE
W
hen we launched the Stoking the Embers
to Preserve the Flame campaign in 2015,
the restoration project felt a long way away.
Today, thanks to the efforts of numerous Dekes,
the work to the Temple is underway.
TEMPLE RESTORATION
Currently, we are working to install a fence
around the perimeter of our property. The
variance for the height and location of the fence
from the Village of Hamilton was approved
with the support of Colgate University. We are
targeting a partial completion date for the fence
of May 24, 2019, just in time for Reunion
Weekend 2019. The fence is named in honor of
Brother Ozone and is a generous gift from Dog
and the Boys of '73.
CAMPAIGN UPDATE
We had 280 brothers make contributions to the
campaign, committing $2,110,344 in pledges.
To date, 69% of the pledges have been received,
and an additional 22% are pledged for payment
over the next few years. That means 9% of
pledges ($191,241) are currently overdue, which
is a greater number in default that we would
care to have. It's imperative we receive planned
pledge payments on time, so please be sure
to mail them in as scheduled or review the
pledge schedule you initially outlined and remit
payments that are behind.
LEADERS NEEDED
Mu of DKE is seeking leaders for The Mu of
DKE Alumni Association, Inc., as well as the
Mu of DKE Foundation. Please plan to submit
your nomination and participate in elections
during the annual meeting, Saturday, June 1,
2019, at 3 p.m. at the Temple. We hope to see
you at Reunion Weekend!
Thank you for your continued support of Mu of
DKE and building a sustainable organization to
support future generations with your time and
treasure.
