This event is presented by Highland Construction and Restoration and Manna Church to show community appreciation to our first responders in the City, County and at Fort Bragg. This breakfast event will be from 7:30-9:30AM at Manna Church, 5117 Cliffdale Rd., Fayetteville. The People's Choice Award recognizes first responders whose heroic efforts are making a difference in our community. This award provides the general public an opportunity to nominate first responders they have observed in action during the period from April 2018 through March 2019. The nominee must be currently employed by an emergency response agency and working in Cumberland County. The nominator may nominate someone for their response to a particular incident or for activity they have observed over a period of time. The types of activities include lifesaving, valor, or awards of merit for service to their community and their agency. A nomination form, which is due April 30, can be obtained on the Chamber's website www.faybiz.com under Events – Valor Awards. The remainder of the awardees are nominated by their chief or agency head from any law enforcement,fire/rescue, and emergency management agency who serves Cumberland County. Incidents should have occurred within Cumberland County in the past year, or have involved first responders representing a local public safety agency. Three major awards will be given: a Certificate of Merit for outstanding work benefitting the department; the Lifesaving Award, in which personnel put their own safety at risk to save the life of another; and the prestigious Valor Award, for incidents in which acts of heroism are performed under extreme risk. We invite the public to attend – tickets are $25, and are available online at www.faybiz.com under events. Please join us in showing our thanks to these brave men and women who are protecting us every day! Nominate A Deserving First Responder For The People's Choice Valor Award
