Our Black & White Dinner Dance at Parkers Black Pearl Restaurant was held last Saturday evening, and, what a time we had! 40 hungry people came to meet and greet, snack, dine and dance. The evening started out by having a glass of wine with cheese and crackers. Dinner began an hour late, they didnt rush us. We had our Rotarians there along with a contingency of Parker Rotarians as well as local friends and newer snowbird friends. As we were seated we rst had sherbet to cleanse our palates. Following were very lling dinners consisting of loaves of bread, crisp salad, more than lling entrees and nally decadent desserts all along with more libations. During the dessert course we called out random numbers for all of our diners to pick up our gifts of gratitude. The dinner was a smashing success and a fantastic kick-start for our Better Future for Quartzsite (BFFQ) fund for projects coming up for Quartzsite. Quartzsite Rotary would like to give a BIG thank you to all who attended, who gave donations, and Parkers Black Pearl Restaurant who gave us a warm and inviting, delicious dinner with terric service! We also want to thank Fran Cerato for creating many beautifully themed gift baskets, Blythe Golf Club for their donation and last of all to our Quartzsite Rotarians who helped pull all of this together. Quickly, I want to mention we did quite well doing the 2 mid-January Beer Gardens at Desert Gardens. Weve been told that Desert Gardens will be applying for their beer and wine license next year. Thank you, Desert Gardens, for allowing us to be part of that to make it a successful money-making charity event. Service above Self and Peace through Service is what we stand for. Helping our community is what we do. In the coming months, I will be letting you know about the Object of Rotary (International) and us. First and foremost, we live by The Four-Way Test: FirstIs it the Truth? SecondIs it Fair to all concerned? ThirdWill it build Goodwill and Better friendships? FourthWill it be Benecial to all concerned?
