Frederick Anthony Gacek '58 entered Chapter Eternal on April 6, 2018. Erik Wallsten '59 entered Chapter Eternal in January 2019. Ed Kellogg '60 reported, "Erik was my roommate for several years during our undergraduate days. He lived and worked in Mexico City, with a very successful career as an electrical engineer and business entrepreneur. One highlight was him meeting Steve Jobs; his company then built the circuit boards for early Mac computers." ALUMNI NOTES Still working at the age of 80, Ed Kellogg '60 also reported on his trip to Ghana, "Things are scaling up exponentially, but still at small scale. We're making more connections and building bigger and better coalitions, going after bigger funding, and even getting some. We're very encouraged. One small victory last fall was getting one of our composting toilet systems, SimpleSan, approved for a 70% subsidy to householders by the Ghana Ministry of Water and Sanitation. We're now engaging a number of companies in various localities to sell and install after we vet and train them. "We're also dreaming, hoping, whatever, to get a job to install 100,000 toilets in a new housing development for the capitol city area, Accra. A little company that we talked about forming four years ago is actually forming to do this job in partnership with one of Ghana's biggest developers." Bob "Ruff" Hutnick '71 celebrated his 70th birthday on March 6, 2018, during a seven-day Eastern Caribbean cruise with brothers (and wives and girlfriends) Herb Arbeiter '72, Paul Cosgrave '72, Al Hanbury '74, Bob Shortle '74, Ed Youngkin '74, and 1973 Sweetheart Sharon Sullivan-Gravitt. Nick Fortune '13, Ph.D. Mathematics, started in a new tenure-track position at Western Kentucky University as an Assistant Professor of Mathematics Education. Chris Roche '13 joined SpaceX as a Test Operations Engineer and is now performing development testing for Starship in McGregor, Texas. Alumni Update Joe Pumper '13 married Melissa Marie (Eldridge) Pumper (Pi Beta Phi, Cal Nu/LMU, '12) on October 13th in Woodside, Calif. The ceremony was officiated by Andrew Stevens '12 (pictured), while Max Jablow '15, Blake Torres '14, and Brandon Win '15 were wedding party participants. Joe and Melissa currently reside in San Francisco, Calif. See page 2 for a RPI Greek Task Force Update
