44 | SPRING 2019 Spotlight Team Member Spotlight F or 19 years, Vice President of Lending Aubrey Magyar has walked alongside American Airlines Federal Credit Union members down the path of home ownership. Whether you're a first-time homebuyer or someone looking into a vacation property, it's good to have a professional like Magyar on your side to help navigate the process. "There's a lot that goes into getting a mortgage, and it can get a little confusing," she said. "We're here to partner with members in the mortgage transaction and try to steer them past all of the pitfalls that they could encounter. And hopefully, we're the best choice for their financial transaction. But if we're not, at least we've given the members information so they can make a smart choice." Working out of the Fort Worth, Texas, Flagship Branch, Magyar leads a team of 60 employees focused not just on mortgages, but other areas of finance as well. Her role is over the mortgage production department as well as business services. She overlooks some underwriting responsibilities for all lending products and rates for all lending products. She also has responsibility with account and loan quality assurance. From her first job with the Credit Union as a representative answering the mortgage hotline to her promotions into other areas, including home equities and business services, to eventually becoming Vice President in June 2018, Magyar has taken pride in supporting members in one of the biggest purchases they'll make in their lives. "Anytime we have a new project, these are always the first questions we ask ourselves: Is this the best thing for the members? Is it meaningful for them? Is it something that will help them in some way? That's what we always go back to for anything — what can we do for the members that's best for them in the long run."
