New Hampshire Beta's Newest Eminent Archon I have the distinct honor and privilege to serve as eminent archon of New Hampshire Beta for 2019. I am a sophomore from Sudbury, Massachusetts, in the Peter T. Paul College of Business and Eco- nomics, studying business administration with a finance focus. I joined ΣΑΕ in the spring of 2018, and since then, I have grown and matured as a man alongside the young men I now call my brothers. Sigma Alpha Epsilon has helped me make many connections that will last a lifetime. Expressing Our Gratitude At the end of the fall semester, we held a barbecue at the chapter house for the Durham Fire Department and their friends and fam- ily. The department's brave members give their time and energy to make sure our campus and community is safe, and we believe in giving back to those who make this commitment. It is custom to host events, such as the barbecue, for the fire department, and we intend to continue this tradition. We plan on hosting another event for the fire department this spring as well as our annual Durham cleanup where brothers walk around the Durham community to col- lect trash. Mustaches in Support of Men's Health Last semester, we cosponsored a fundraiser with Alpha Tau Ome- ga and raised more than $4,000 for men's health issues, such as prostate and testicular cancer. Brothers of both chapters grew their facial hair in November and held a Movember Shave-Off event at the end of the semester at the Memorial Union. This pageant show was judged by a panel of members from both chapters and awards, such as best mustache, tidiest mustache, and worst mustache, were presented. The Importance of Recruitment and Leadership Last semester, we recruited a strong class of 24 great men. Re- cruitment is an important pillar to our chapter, and we believe that our chapter's future starts with recruiting men that best possess our core values of loyalty, integrity, and honor. We also value leader- ship and pride ourselves in our abilities not only within the chapter, but on campus as well. Colin Decker '20 was elected to serve on the executive board of the Interfraternity Council as chief justice and served on New Hampshire Beta's executive board as eminent health and safety. Looking to the Future We have big plans coming for New Hampshire Beta and are excit- ed for the future of our chapter. We thank our loyal alumni for your continued support and contributions. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out or stop by the chapter house to meet the young men following in your footsteps.
