Coleman '87 *2018 donor forever PurPLe anD GoLD Remembering the Late Richard "Dick" Hooker Jr., Vermont Beta '55 B orn on December 7, 1931, Richard "Dick" Hooker Jr., Vermont Beta '55, was initiated into ΣΑΕ at the University of Vermont in the fall of 1952. Following his undergraduate tenure, he served as province alpha archon from 1970 through 1986, chapter advisor for Worcester Polytechnic Institute from 2002 to 2018, alumni advisor for the University of New Hamp- shire from 2011 to 2018, and most notably, as honorary eminent supreme archon from 2013 to 2015. For his longstanding dedica- tion to the fraternity, Dick was awarded the Outstanding Chapter Advisor Award in 2009, 2010, and 2012, Order of the Lion Award in 2002, Order of Minerva Award in 2012, the Merit Key Award in 1978, and the Distinguished Service Award in 1994. Dick entered Chapter Eternal on March 21, 2018, at age 86 and was preceded in death by his wife, Caroline, and son, Thomas. He is survived by his daughter, Caroline; her husband, Michael; two grandchildren, Erica and Christopher; and four great-grand- children, Eli, Jack, Mila, and Ava.
