Angel UPDATE I L L I N O I S Z E T A C H A P T E R U N I V E R S I T Y O F I L L I N O I S | S P R I N G 2 0 1 9 F or more than 120 years, Pi Beta Phi has been a proud and respected member of the University of Illinois campus community. While there may be some differences in today's chapter compared to the one you knew, there is an unbroken chain of Pi Phi members at Illinois. Illinois Zeta continues to grow both in numbers and in stature. We now have more than 180 undergraduate members. Maintain Your Connection to Pi Phi and to Your Sisters Because we build such strong friendships, we all leave Pi Phi with high hopes of keeping our strong bonds of sisterhood intact. Unfortunately, we quickly find that many new interests — careers, families and civic activities — can create diversions. e day-to-day activities of life take over and, before we know it, we fall out of touch and begin to wonder what happened to our sisters. Stay Up to Date with Our New Chapter Newsletter With this in mind, we've created an alumnae relations program to help our members stay in touch and to cultivate awareness and involvement in our chapter. We have partnered with Pennington & Company — a highly successful Lawrence, Kansas, based firm that specializes in fraternity and sorority alumni relations — to assist us with the Illinois Zeta communications program. Twice a year, we will mail a newsletter to all alumnae. Each issue will contain alumnae news, spotlights on alumnae from various decades, information about upcoming events and reports on chapter activities. We want to give you an opportunity to reach out to sisters you haven't seen or talked to for far too long, and we hope this will encourage you to do so. Fraternity and Sorority Life at the University of Illinois In addition to learning more about our own collegians and alumnae, it is also important for us to stay informed about the collegiate chapter and hear about our younger sisters and their status on campus. is fall, 1,150 Potential New Members went through primary recruitment, which reminds us that fraternity and sorority life at Illinois is flourishing. Pi Beta Phi continues to excel and recruited 49 New Members. Visit 1005 South Wright is Spring With this revamped communications program, our goal is to keep all alumnae informed about current projects and future plans and to give all of our Illinois Zeta sisters an opportunity to get involved. After all, we are Pi Phi sisters for life, not just during our college years. Please stop by the chapter house when you are back on campus cheering the Fighting Illini to victory! SHINE THROUGH on Pi Phi Giving Day, April 26, 2019 J oin sisters and friends around the world for Pi Phi Giving Day, our annual fundraising event held in honor of Founders' Day.
